1. What material is best for my banner, and what do the different 'oz' numbers mean?

The best material depends entirely on where you plan to hang the banner. The 'oz' (ounce) number simply refers to the weight per square yard of the vinyl, which indicates its thickness and durability.

  • Standard Outdoor ($14\text{ oz}$): A great all-around choice for most situations. It balances quality, durability, and cost. Use it for parties, indoor events, or short-term promotions outdoors.

  • Heavy-Duty Outdoor ($16\text{ oz}$): This is our thickest, most rugged material. Choose this for permanent exterior displays, long-term business signage, or areas that face consistently rough weather.

  • Wind-Resistant Mesh: This material has small holes that allow wind to pass right through, which prevents the banner from turning into a sail and tearing.1 It is ideal for fences or open, windy locations.

2. What are "grommets" and "hemming," and why do I need them?

These are the essential finishing touches that make your banner easy to hang and extremely durable:

  • Grommets: These are the small metal rings (eyelets) punched along the edges of the banner. They reinforce the holes where you will run ropes, zip ties, or bungees to hang the sign.

  • Hemming: This is when the edges of the vinyl are folded over and sealed (or sewn). This extra fold reinforces the perimeter of the banner, preventing tearing and fraying, especially when the banner is pulled taut or exposed to wind. We include hemming on every banner for maximum strength.

3. Will the colors fade quickly if I use my banner outdoors?

No. We use high-quality UV-resistant inks designed specifically for outdoor signage. This ensures that the vivid, full-color printing on your banner remains bright and resistant to fading, even after extended exposure to sunlight. All our materials are built for long-lasting outdoor visibility.

4. How big or small can I make my custom banner?

You have complete control over the size. We offer full custom sizing to fit any space.

For banners that need to be in one single, seamless piece, the maximum size we can print is 10 feet by 150 feet.

Need something larger? No problem! If you need a huge sign that exceeds those dimensions (for example, a $20\text{ ft} \times 30\text{ ft}$ wall wrap), we can professionally panel and join multiple banner sections to create a flawless, extra-large finished piece.

5. How should I store my banner to keep it in the best condition?

To prevent wrinkles and damage, always roll your banner (never fold it) with the graphic facing outward. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct heat and sunlight. If the banner is wet or dirty, allow it to fully dry and wipe it clean before rolling and storing.

6. What kind of files do I need to send for printing?

We accept most common design file formats, but for the best quality and fastest printing, we recommend sending your art as a high-resolution PDF (Portable Document Format).
